Dear ESNers,
Dear ESNers,
We welcome you back to the second International Board report after receiving great feedback from our first outing. Without wanting to repeat the words of October, November has of course lived up to the expectations of being hectic and busy with a whirlwind of meetings, events, deadlines and interesting developments in the network that we will try to tell you about below.
Erasmus Student Network received the first prize of the European Economic and Social Committees Civil Society prize during their plenary session in Brussels the 7th of December. The prize was awarded to ESN’s flagship project SocialErasmus, a project allowing international students to integrate, learn and give an added value to their local communities.
The Holidays are slowly approaching and we would like to acknowledge this special time of a year with the Section Gift Exchange! The tradition of exchanging gift goes way back and it's now a tradition in the making in ESN. Last year 50 sections participated in sending and receiving very creative and personal gifts so for the second year we invite you to share your holiday spirits and participate in this ESN Activity.
ESN’s flagship project SocialErasmus was awarded with the first prize of the Civil Society Prize 2011, granted by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). For the 4th time this prize was awarded to innovative projects that give a valuable contribution to the well-being of our society.
Over the past few months the ComCom graphics team has been steadily producing a great deal of material for the network on all three levels making everyone happier.
As you might have already heard next year, 2012, is the 25th year of Erasmus programme and ESN wants to do something extra special. All over Europe ESN will organise many events on local, national and international level to celebrate this quarter of Century of the Erasmus programme. To strengthen the visibility of the year and the events we have decided to label activities in the name of the 25th anniversary.
