
Fly to Innsbruck is the fastest way to get here, but also the most expensive. There are regular flights or charter flights from Europe’s most important cities to Innsbruck Airport (Austrian, Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, Welcome Air, Tuifly.com, Lauda Air, Tyrolean Airlines, Transavia, Easyjet).

Innsbruck can be reached easily by car. If using the motorways (Autobahn), you need to purchase a toll sticker, called “Vignette”. The Vignette is available at all borders, at petrol stations near the border and from automobile associations. The stickers come with a validy period of 10 days (7,90 €), two months (23 €) or a full calendar year (14 months - 1st of December 11 to 21st of January 13) and must be displayed on your car’s windshield. If you are caught without the sticker and can't pay the immideate fine of 120 Euros, fines up to 3.000 Euros can be charged!
Does the pubilc transport offer any discounts for foreign students?
Since 2011 there is a new Semester-Ticket offered by the IVB for trams and busses in Innsbruck - it's possible to purchase it by any student under 27 years of age with a valid ID and inscription confirmation and costs € 119,90 for 6 months!
