How to get the cheapest tickets for ski resorts?

Hello Everybody!
The winter is coming! For sure many of you are snowboarders and ski riders on a top level and already know all the information about the possibility of snow entrainment here in Innsbruck! In the following text you will find just some additional information to enjoy our winter at the best!

So let’s begin from level 0…
Where is it possible to ski here in Innsbruck?
Very easy answer…all around you! There are many possibilities for skiing, snowboarding, sledding…for beginners and for expert riders!

Where to buy the ski- snowboard stuff?
Maybe a lot of you arrived here by plane and have not the possibility to bring the ski or snowboard equipment…so let’s have a turn in the different ski and snowboard shops (Hervis Sport, Inter Sport, etc..) that you find in the city center (Sillpark), in DEZ (near to IKEA) and in CYTA (end of the airport, on the other side of the river).
During the month of October and November the shops have some discounts…you can find new material for really good prices.
If after having a look, the prices are too high for you, I can suggest you to go on Sunday morning (from 7 am to 1 pm) to the Flohmarkt (end of the airport, on the other side of the river, in the CYTA Einkaufszentrum). You can reach it with the bus O until Technik. Then take the bus T until the last stop. There you will find a lot of different stuff…just be careful about the quality!

Where to buy a season card and which one?
This is a very difficult question….there are a lot of season card but the most common are the following three:
1. Tirol Snow Card
2. Tirol Regio Card
3. Freizeitticket
Let’s begin to say that I suggest to buy a season card for who is planning to go skiing a minimum of 10 times during the winter, otherwise is better to buy a day ticket every time that you go skiing or snowboarding.

Tirol Snow Card
The first card (and the more expensive, ca.590 euro) is called Tirol Snow Card. It is the best of the best for skiing and it includes:
• 80 ski resorts
• 923 lifts
• 3105 km of tracks
You will never end skiing with this card.
The validity is from 1st October until the 15th May.
More information you can find under the following link:
http://www.snowcard.tirol.at/
Let’s have a look and you will dream…

Tirol Regio Card
The second card is called Tirol Regio card and is a little bit cheaper (378 euro from the 1st of November) and it includes:
• 23 ski resorts
• 2 glaciers
• ice skating
• sledding tracks
• more and more during the summer (swimming areas)
The validity is from the 1st October until the 30th September.
Is a good card, the only problem is that a lot of the 23 ski areas are far away from Innsbruck (1 hour by car, more if you depend on public transports). Thinks about this card if you have got a car, otherwise you have to pay a train and a bus ticket every time that you go skiing (except for the 3 ski resorts that are near Innsbruck).
More information you can find under the following link:
http://www.tirol-regio.at/index.html

Freizeitticket Tirol (Free Time Card for Tirol)
So finally there is the Freizeitticket Tirol (cost for students 287 euro from the 1st of November).
This card includes:
• 10 ski resorts
• 8 ice skating places
• 2 museums (I know it is strange, but why not…)
• sledding tracks
• more and more for the summer (swimming places and swimming pools)
The validity is from 1st October until 30th September.
The 10 ski resorts are all around Innsbruck and the card includes free entrance in the three best ski resort of the Tirol (ISCHGL). For the students who don’t have a car and want to go skiing every week-end in a different place this is the right compromise.
More information you can find under the following link:
http://www.freizeitticket.at/

On every web page that I posted in this article you will find all the information about the ski resort and all the points where you can buy the 3 different cards. What are you waiting for? Let’s enjoy the snow of Tirol!
