
1. Goldenes Dachl - The golden Roof
Check out Innsbruck's landmark in the Oldtown.. It is the thing that glitters in the sun - you can't miss it :)
2. Hofburg
Visit the residence of Tyrol's ancient sovereigns.. You can see the ballroom, the emperor's appartments, etc.. Last year, even a Bollywood movie was shot there! Nice

3. Hofgarten
Biiig park, where it's nice to go for a walk, jogging or just to take a rest. Unfortunately it is not allowed to sit down on the grass, the only place for this is at the entrance on the right. (next to the SOWI-building and a playground).. Go there to have a beer in the evening with your friends.. (and don't forget to take your garbage!)

4. Bergisel
Innsbruck's famous ski-jump! You have a beautiful view from there over Innsbruck!
You walk up the hill for about 15 minutes, from there you take a lift to get to the top. (adults: 8,30€, ticket for the whole year 11€, if you get a lot of visitors, it might be worth thinking about bying this one :).) In the tower of the ski-jump there is also a restaurant. 4. Schloss Ambras
A beautiful 16th cenutry castle, located in the east of Innsbruck. Offers a nice view on Innsbruck and the mountains. Beautiful park with peacocks in it - yes thats weird. Offers a nice collection of over 200 portraits - including some by van Dyck and Velásquez. Feeling more like going medieval? Well they got an arms chamber and a chamber of wonders as well. You can take either line TS starting from the Maria Theresien Strasse or line C infront of the Landesmuseum

2. Zeughaus
Emperor Maximilian's old arms depot for a war that never came. Now run by the Tiroler Landesmuseum, hosting various changing exhibitions.
3. Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum & Hofkirche
Just reopened in May 2009 the Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum offers you an experience of excellent modern museum pedagogy. Giving you an impression about life in former times by showing old Austrian Folk Art the museum is absolutely worth a visit. Don't miss the Hofkirche neither - a pre-show which guides you through 3 rooms introduces you to Maximilian I., whose empty grave can be seen inside of the church.

4. Alpenvereinsmuseum
You find the museum in the Wilhelm-Greil-Straße 8.
The temporary Exhibition of the Alpenvereismuseum is in the Hofburg: 'Berge - eine unverständliche Leidenschaft'.
A really good exhibition (note that explanations are only in german) for everyone who is fascinated by mountains or who at least is interested to understand other people's fascination :)

5. Fotomuseum: Fotoforum West
A great museum, small, but oho! Hidden in a court yard there is the museum which exists of 2 rooms with changing exhibitions. If you are interested in photography, you will love this museum so much, that you want to hug it! Free entrance!!

6. Institut Francais d'Innsbruck
